If you’ve spent any time on social media, the chances are you would have come across infographics, these are simply visual representations of information or data. Infographics have been a big trend on social media for a while now, which is largely because visual content is often a superior way to present content as most of us find it easier to consume. Consider these facts:
- 50% of the brain is active in visual processing
- Humans process visual scenes 60,000 times faster than text
- 40% of people respond better to visuals
- Most people only remember 20% of what they read
The benefits of infographics
- More eye-catching and memorable than words
- Shareable – easy to communicate on social media and will often be shared by followers
- Fun and engaging – it’s a nice light way to communicate, sometimes church communication can be heavy and hard to digest
- Attract interest and curiosity - the visual appeal of infographics encourages people to pay attention to a topic
Research shows that our attention spans are getting shorter with the rise of social media and numerous other digital distractions. Therefore any form of communication that can cut through the clutter and deliver a clear message is useful. A strong infographic can do just that.

5 ways to use church infographics
There are many ways that your church could use infographics to communicate with your members and visitors in an engaging way, here are a few:
1. To tell people about your church
Often one of the first things people want to know about your church is who the leadership is and what the church stands for, an infographic can be used to present this information in an interesting way.
- Introduce your team in a creative way so people can see at a glance who they are and what they’re responsible for
